Man run over, killed by combine in southern Minnesota

MAYNARD, Minn. — A man has died in a farming accident in southern Minnesota.

The Renville County Sheriff's Department says the man died Monday afternoon when he was run over by a combine at a farm near Maynard.

Authorities say the man approached the back of the combine where the driver couldn't see him and was run over. The victim died at the scene.

SIREN, Wis. (BURNETT COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE) --
On Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 3:30 p.m.

Burnett County Deputies, Webster Fire Department, and paramedics from North Memorial Ambulance responded to a farm incident that occurred east of Webster on Austin Lake Road in the Town of Meenon. A 55-year old man had been operating a tractor pulling a rear-mounted PTO-driven tiller when he stopped and climbed down from the tractor to clear an obstruction. The man’s three-year old son that had been riding on the tractor with him apparently exited the tractor at the same time and was pulled into the tiller when he approached the implement.

The boy was pronounced dead at the scene by Burnett County Deputy Medical Examiner Erin Voglund; the names of the deceased child and his father are not being released at this time.

Investigation into this incident continues by the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office and the Burnett County Medical Examiner.

High winds blow over grain auger that kills 64-year-old on SE Wisconsin farm

TOWN OF YORKVILLE, Wis. — High winds are blamed for a fatal farming accident in southeastern Wisconsin.

The Racine County sheriff's office was called to the Town of Yorkville just after 2 p.m. Friday. Officers found that a 51-foot grain auger blew over because of high winds and fatally injured a 64-year-old property owner.

The victim's name was not immediately released.
