Catching all of those fish in one day is more of a possibility now than it ever has been. So why are you upset with the DNR again?

The resort owners are a bunch of whiny little beeyatchs.

What does this have to do with politics? Unless your referencing the enormous take of walleyes allowed for hook and line fisherman, you aren't making any sense.

If sportsman really cared, they'd raise enough money to buy the Indians outta there netting/spearing rights. If they aren't willing to put their money where their mouths are, it's time to shut up. I'm in for 25 cents.

Or voluntarily restrict their harvest to less than what is allotted, like the Indians do.

I don't fish Mille Lacs cause I don't live in the ABC, or fish with a Zebco spin cast, but to my knowledge the "sportsman" quota has not been reached for several years?

Again, if it's the Indians fault, take them outta the equation. That's simple risk management. My gut tells me that not damn person cares enough to make the necessary changes via their own wallet though.

7 of the 8 bands are from WI and they net much more intensively than the Mille Lacs band who own the casino.

I always kind of viewed it that the casino funded the law suits and attorneys for the tribes.

That's not an option. It'd be like bird watchers paying duck hunters to quit duck hunting. Or like the tribe buying out the resorts instead (which they've been doing).

You're assuming they net solely for the money.

Maybe the tribes should buy the state out of their sports fishing rights instead? Just make the lake catch and release only with the tribes giving the resorts a few hundred-thousand pounds of walleye fillets they can hand out to their clients.

Afterall, the issue here is guys not being able to bring home more fish----problem solved. Guys wouldn't even have to worry about cleaning them!

The bottom line is this lawsuit is idiotic and pointless and will be a waste of the DNR's funds to have to defend themselves.

The lake is fine. It's full of little walleyes after an exceptional 2013 year class followed up by a solid 2014 one. Give the lake a couple years and everything will be 'fixed' on its own.
