Murder-suicide leaves woman dead in duck hunting decoy bag

NORWOOD YOUNG AMERICA, Minn. (KMSP) -
A woman was found dead inside of a plastic waterfowl decoy bag in an apparent murder-suicide in Norwood Young America, Minnesota. According to the Carver County sheriff's office, a roommate came back to the house at 920 Preserve Blvd at about 5 p.m. Wednesday and found a man dead in the garage.

While processing the scene, deputies found a woman dead of a gunshot wound to the head, and her body was concealed in a duck decoy bag. They also found a man dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Next door neighbor Barb Louwagie had been concerned that lately things weren't quite right.

“It started last week -- last Friday, Saturday, Sunday,” she said. “The lights in the garage were on the whole time. We kind of thought that was kind of odd.”

Neighbors and the roommate said the man who died was Mylo Leistiko, and that the woman found in the decoy bag was his girlfriend. They say from what they knew of Leistiko, you could have never guessed he was about to commit such a horrible crime.

“From the conversations I had, he just seemed like a regular nice guy,” Louwagie said.

A press release distributed this evening by the Carver County Sheriff's Office provides the identities of the two people involved and discloses that they were apparently in a romantic relationship.

Sheriff Jim Olson reports the Midwest Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed the identifies of the man and woman found dead in Norwood Young America on March 11, 2015, as Milo Willis Leistiko (51) and Lanaea Ann Harrison (23). Both were residents of the Preserve Blvd. address where they were found.

Preliminary investigative information suggests Leistiko and Harrison were involved in a romantic relationship. The evidence found at the scene indicates Leistiko shot and killed Harrison and placed her body in a waterfowl decoy bag before turning the gun on himself and taking his own life. The time of death has not yet been determined, but initial information suggests the incident happened on March 11, 2015.

This matter remains under investigation by the Carver County Sheriff's Office and MN BCA.

I never found out. First I told her it may be noisy so she may want to stay somewhere else, to which she responded "like your house?". Laughed it off. Next day she asked me on a date. Later that night got a text asking if I had thought about the date, to which I didn't respond. Next day the shower comments were made. She was definitely persistent...never happens when its a hot chick though
