As we speak they are just hammering mallards in Missouri on moist soil units. The guys same the amount of ducks is just sick right now. But we already have enough opportunities according to landwehr. I think I will make a trip to Missouri next november!

Why wait 11 months? Those ducks are just begging you to shoot them!

North Ottawa Refuge sounds like a Band-Aid. ;-)

Here's the North Ottawa flood control project. It's north west of Herman and west of Elbow Lake and Wendell, in western Grant County.

Thief lake.

Unhuntable, deep in the refuge.

Marsh lake.

This one is easy to view and you have a good vantage point.

Once again, off limits to hunting.

This one is absolutely proof in my book, not only can it be done, but it should be done.

I struggle putting this on here, but we use to hunt out in this area. This is a chunk of private, that God bless the group or guy for turning it into a duck haven. Heard all kinds of stories from the locals about the guy putting a lot of money into it and only hunting it a handful of times a year. But it sure drew the ducks into the area. Even saw prairie chickens in the area.

Managing areas is possible.

I am tired of hearing the reasons and excuses why this or that can not be accomplished.

Never been to that part of the state to see those units. What kind of bird activity does the MSM areas get? I would guess alot but would like to hear from someone with first hand knowledge.
