Rochester Geese

Tue Dec 10, 2013 7:49 pm

I don't hunt them . . unless it is with "the crew" . . .but lots of geese around if your headed down soon. Nice field to west late yesterday and a buddy said he had a field somewhere (south maybe) that was black with them things.

Good luck!!

Yes lots around! Saw a field WAY out south fill up pretty heavy today along with 500 mallards. Once again the season doesn't run late enough. If you can hide you can kill em. The field that was loaded today had hunters directly north of them about 250 yards from the X. They got the finger for what I stuck around to watch.

^^^unfortunately mallards will always be in your goose decoys after the duck season closes, no matter when the end date of the duck season is.

Never said we didn't, but I'm pretty sure I know when the largest concentrations of mallards hit rochester and in the past 5-7 years it's been after the season is over.

Yes a lot of geese have left. A large chuck left before Thanksgiving. Now another chunk left in the last few days. The rez's are finally freezing up and making the geese decide if it's worth going into town on the rivers or head south.
