30 to 55 mph winds in SD. 12+" of snow.

NE and SD ranchers are going to go bankrupt - the cattle are in full calving mode right now as a friend of mine her in laws are ranchers near Pierre SD and asked for prayers. She said $600-900 lost per calf and 1200-1800 per cow that is lost. :(

NAMnest model is totally different than others, metro 4-6, still heavy out west and into SD. That area between Huron/Brookings/Aberdden is prime duck country so this moisture will really help. It's will melt out super fast, sunny and 40 Monday. No cold behind this system, so that's a good thing.

Intellicast is saying 6-9" fr the SW metro

The NWS is predicting widespread 12+" of snow for the metro. Some places could get 20" in MN
For SW metro they are predicting 15" thru Sunday.

In a blizzard warning and this happens. South of Marshall. Heard 90 mph winds and funnel clouds with that first storm this morning.ImageImageImage

I'm calling a botched forecast. They've been pushing it south all week and now the timeline is completely different than it even was this morning. See what happened Sunday morning I guess

Walked the dog, about 5:30 am.

It reminded of November blizzards, just 20 degrees warmer and slushy. The sound in the trees was the same.

The last few mornings it's been upper 30's/lower 40's with the promise of Spring. The birds have been singing and tweeting, deer and geese just hanging out watching me walk the dog. This morning: nothing.

Bluebills and ringnecks showed up in the exit ramp ponds along 212 yesterday. That was f'ing cool.

Yesterday I saw my 1st green shoot of a flower along the house foundation peeking out....

And today we have Blizzard warnings for all of SW MN including the metro of Carver and Scott Counties.
15"+ likely accumulations by Sunday evening, 30-50mphs winds today through Sunday.

Welcome to spring time in MN

And another 3-5" is being predicted for Wed.

At least hopefully it'll be melted in another 2 weeks time in time for May 1st.

At this rate Lake Minnetonka will still have ice on it for fishing Opener. And in far northern MN they will be ice fishing on opener.

When's the last time the metro had a blizzard warning issued? '91?
