Duck opener is sooner if you head north... ;)

It all depends on the winds and temperature. The windier it is, the faster is melts.

There is not a 30s or 40s high temps predicted for the next 10 days on Intellicast for the metro, everything is 50/60s.

If that comes to be, I doubt that we'll break the May 5th lake Minnetonka ice out.

Based on the snow cover, out by the Ortonville area they could be ice free sooner than the S side of the Cities as they are snow free. The white snow reflects the heat of the sun light.

I don't see any open lakes yet. Looks like many records will be set this year; several already.

Do you know when its officially Spring time in MN?

When driving in the morning you have the heat on, and in the afternoon the AC is on.

Only lake open down here is lake redwood but its actually just the river so water rise busted that up. Halfway decent out right now so I'm going out in the yard to ventilate some metal drums with the 45.

Today was gorgeous, worked most of the weekend but was able to throw 3 racks of ribs on the smoker this afternoon and enjoy my #2 hobby for a few hours

20" of snow melted in 7 days time.
Some of the shallow dark bottom ponds have opened up now.
I did 3 combos (MHN & WDB) installs today. Ice will be getting real sketchy soon as 2-3" honey comb on top.
I have a combo move and 1 MHN redo to do tomorrow and then that's it for on ice activities. I hope to have all the land WDBs done by Tues afternoon.
