Okay, I'm bored to the bejesus with stupid "You're from MN if...." bs written by people not from Minnesota that aunts and other stupid people think are funny and need to be posted..."If you say pop, not soda", "eat hot dish", and whatever antiquated b.s. people think are funny OR the ones where our women are tougher than you crap.

So I want to start a list of crap you only KNOW if you are MN.... of course, this would pretty much anything North of like 1-90, but Michigan can create their own damn list if their not too busy bailing out Detroit.

Things like:

1) Six degrees of separation isn't about Kevin Bacon~ it's how many degrees of connection before you know someone that has been dropped from auto coverage for hitting too many deer.

2) 10 degrees isn't really cold, it's just the point you need to add more charcoal to the Weber.

3) In an interview never say you hunt/fish as a hobby to make small talk with prospective boss... he needs someone to cover him when HE'S hunting and fishing... both of you can't be gone for weeks during the season.

4)Yes, "How far is it?" is a question about time.... 1) it's more practical but 2) I already KNOW what time half hour before sunrise is adjusted for longitude

5) Moss grows on more than the North side of trees

6) Shoulders on the interstate and flashers are so we can watch birds work a field/slough or glass a buck in the next section

7) For some period of life, Windsor is good booze

8) Mulitple boats/houses/tents/shotguns/rifles/fishing rods/sleeping bags/etc. is a strategy

9) Canadians secretly wish they were us, we secretly wish we're from North Dakota

10) Watching the weather is about timing vacation days

Who Mel Jazz, Clancy the Cop, Casey Jones and Roundhouse Rodney were.

What "We're heading up nort" means.

That "da range" is not a stove.

What "it was spendy" means.

That calling someone a "cheese head" is not a compliment.

That a "hammer handle" is a small northern pike.

That a "Buffalo" is a type of Sucker fish and not a Bison.

That a "Sheeps head" is a fresh water drum fish not an depacitated farm animal. It can also mean a card game.

What "dat's a goodun" means.

Don't bother. A number of years ago I decided to resample a bunch of things I didn't like as a kid. I now like turnips and parsnips, but lutefisk is inedible.

You only know you are from Minnesota when you're reading a post about only knowing you are from Minnesota.

Stew frame-ah is not a food or construction term, it's about Edinan's.

Lefse is good with butter and brown sugar.
