Youth Waterfowl Day

Mon May 13, 2019 7:27 am

Did you guys see the massive changes for this year to YWD. :D Let the gritting of teeth begin.
-Spinners allowed.
-Hunt until sunset.
-It's now both Saturday and Sunday.
-Age limit increased from 15 to 17.

Can't wait to take my son out both days!

In some ways, yes, but then they're also supposedly the voice of reason in politics and should vote at age 12.

Never been a big fan of it, but see it as a means to recruit new potential hunters...we need them.

I don't see the benefit of raising the age limit to 17. By 16, they are required to buy their own license and stamps. I thought the programs was designed for the 12-15 year olds.

What's next; unlimited bag limits, no specie restrictions?

Idc about youth waterfowl DAY, the age increase, or spinners, but two days is patently absurd.

Where did you see these changes? I searched on the DNR site but could not find anything.

Excellent.

Let's take something that isn't working and double the effort, thereby doing more of the same thing that still produces zero results.

Definition of insanity right there....

Anyone wanna bet they’re testing the waters and the same changes are coming to regular duck season this year or next?

If this is a test, i'm not certain what they're testing.

As I recall, it's been agreed upon that evening pressure is the surest way to move birds out.

Spinners generally suck and even the Spinner-lovers seem to agree they are not as effective on water as they once were.

Now, if you told me it's a test of a Teal Season, I might be less cynical.....
