Coronavirus

So...I typically view this stuff as blown up by the media for ratings...

Totally expected trump to come out tonight at the news conference, pump up the American people and stock market, etc...

And I was completely shocked by the body language and tone by not just Trump but everyone at the presser. Trump looked like this is grave...not just the virus but...that due to the virus and markets tanking, like his reelection is in jeopardy. Almost like he already sees the writing on the wall. I honestly am really taken back by this. I never really saw even a fight for the election til now. Stock futures tanked even deeper post news conference...confirming my sentiments.

Then you get a news release shortly after that a California resident tested positive for it and the CDC has no idea how that person got it...meaning they got it from someone who doesn't know they have it and are spreading it around. There's probably dozens of infections in California already, watch the cases start getting confirmed over the next week. If cases start rolling in...I'm not fear mongering but this could very likely be the beginning of the us outbreak, and why trump looked so down Any time you have a case and they can't trace how that person was infected...on something that's highly contagious...that's not good lol

Markets have already fallen 10% with massive dark pool orders going through...like $300 mil orders...selling. We don't even have a full fledged out break confirmed yet...imagine if we do. Or first death? Not friggen good at all.

It's not like I feel this is the end of mankind...but even a worldwide outbreak...say a billion people are infected at a 2.1% death rate...that's still a lot of friggen deaths. The economic strain if this travels worldwide is going to be ridiculous. Imagine having huge quarantines in the us like they do in China? It doesn't have to kill a bunch of people to severely impact supply chains and the economy.

So what are your thoughts? Does this come and go relatively easily like several of the last scares? Or does this blow up(or has it already) into something uncontrollable with massive impact?

I think the economic impact will be a much bigger deal than the health impact. Unless the virus changes anyway. It’s the media’s fault for spreading fear and the sheep eating it up. I’m surprised people still trust the media given their track record in recent years but people are stupid.

If trump losses the election for something he has no control over that will be the worst result. Especially if the socialist is his opponent.

If you're very young or very old I would be slightly worried. If you have a healthy immune system lick all the door handles you want.

Look at the numbers: 80K ish have/had the virus, less than 3K dead, 40K recovered. That's what less than 3%.

The media sucks and they will ultimately blame Trump for this.

Stole this from a friends bookface account..................I think the media is flaming this way out of bounds..........

"I admit that I’m no actuarial scientist, but at first glance, this way of looking at the subject adds perspective. Need more? In the U.S. (which has 1/4 to 1/3 the population of China) last year we had 79,000 deaths from the flu."

The media sucks.

Most cases are very mild but you will have to dig to find that out.

china is a huge crap hole. chickens pigs livestock running around trash everywhere human waste straight into their water sources. plus their healthcare system blows donkey d!ck. It's gonna kill people but the flu and pneumonia kill far more. 16,000 deaths from the flu in the US alone.

the media is literally bored with telling the truth and everything gets blown up and sensationalized.

It’s another media attempt by Pelosi to dethrone Trump.
