I wonder what it cound raise if whoever wins it not only gets the painting but the painting acts as a golden ticket to the hunt of a lifetime.....

....Al and I agreeing to draw a name out of a hat of a hunting spot and then agreeing to meet the winning party there where we'll meet for the first time and then take them hunting.



I bet we could get at least five bills for that shit....maybe even ten bills......

Not Bad. My only complaint is that you have Fouler hunting with a Duck Toller. I am pretty sure he has/had Golden Retrievers.

That's a golden....or my best attempt at a golden. Quite honestly the most difficult thing in the painting was the damn dog...dogs are tough. A lab would be pretty easy....same length of hair all the same color...would be like painting a dude with a buzz cut.

Goldens though?

Different lengths, different colors....blonde frilly locks here, flat chestnutty red hair there.....lot of different depth. A golden is like painting Eva Longoria's hair on the red carpet of the Emmy's = not easy.

In hindsight, more cattails and shade over old Buzz Buzz would've probably helped....but this painting is meant to honor h2ofwlr.....the last thing I wanted was to throw shade on the dog and have it be viewed as some sort of metaphor for Buzz sucking.....everyone knows how awesome of a dog Buzz was.....just wouldn't have been right to do that in my opinion......

Here's a fun one I was just messing around with yesterday.....

Fill in some rocks on the bottom, add some dead zebs, darken it up for an evening setting, add some light shining in, then for the finishing touch paint a spear going through the back of its head with blood pooling out. ‘Tis the season.

When I showed up at the public access on Mille lacs about 1130 pm before opener last year there was a native boat spearing right in front of the access. I couldn’t believe it. We watched him spear a big female. Some White dudes that were clearly Mille lacs net and spear haters were having a melt down. I was laughing my ass off.
