Will the cold snap end of week put a damper on flow? Was hoping to go up Fri morning but they are supposed to get 4-8" snow Weds night, high 33 Fri and a low if 17 Fri night. Upper 40's sat and Sunday so assuming that'll be good but if it's that cold Fri wondering if that day will be lost

I dunno just never done it so trying to discern variables that could affect it

Right, I never ask for anything because I know he enjoys the plucked mallards, he's an old duck hunter from years ago, he has given me shells but one year I got a jar of the maple syrup and it was very good.......

Think we are gonna try to head up early Saturday. Maybe late tomorrow but probably wouldn't get up early enough to do much.

With the recent snow up there and cooler temps early in the week...could a guy leave the buckets Sunday and try to take a day trip up Weds morning to collect and haul home to boil? Thinking I could surround the buckets in snow to keep cool enough. Just as a means to collect more as I'm not sure how much we'll get in just 2 days

We got up about 9:30 this morning started tapping right away things were flowing pretty good. Got about 5 gallons today boiling down right now ...hoping we can get another near 5 gallons tomorrow before heading home and should be enough to make me happy for our first go round. Digging this gf had fun too

My buddy loves making maple syrup so much he almost cancelled snow goose hunting plans this weekend and I had to talk him out of it. SMH.

It is pretty fun lol. I think we have about 12-16 taps in as a trial and I'm definitely going to be checking out the woods this summer for more potential trees and most likely expanding for next year

Nice haul today...ran up to the cabin. Unfortunately some containers overflowing and 2 of the tubes came out if two. Well have some adjustments to do for next year. Left everything up probably one more trip up over the weekend and call it a wrap for the first year
