Thanks, it's one of the ways I try to stay sane. It's very soothing, relaxing, my brain shuts off all other thoughts when I'm painting.


This is a quick one I just did with oil paints, about the size of a postcard.....oils are still wet....

Think I'm done with this....besides letting the oils dry a while before sealing it....

Also messing around on a fish carving my buddy got from a guy and wanted me to paint it....went the more folksy route versus realistic....might start over and change course

I started this one planning on giving it to my parents for Christmas & their 50th, but it's been difficult....it's really hard to paint people so they look like themselves. I've painted over and over again both faces...they kept looking just like one of my brothers and one of my sisters....like, no way I could paint them that well if I was trying to paint them.

I just wanted to get the basic outlines and a rough drawing of them in acrylic to then go over using oils....Lot easier to shade, correct, and do detail. We shall see!

Way to go FF. That’s really cool… I’m not an artist but I know enough artists to know they are their own biggest critics… you should get a second opinion on whether that looks like your parents or your bro and sis
