I appreciate your confidence in me but I never said any were done....still working on it....just trying to get a better idea of which direction to go with the sky. I've never done a sunrise scene and it's been a challenge. I've worked on it since this pic and will work on it some more. I'm getting the basics laid out in terms of composition and color and will start cleaning it up and adding more detail.

With the sun behind the birds, wouldn’t they appear much darker?

Good point.

I started shading them more as I moved on from general layout/composition lighting. Silhouetting the trees on the island on the left, shade behind it on the water, etc.

I was going to keep working on that and darken the ducks but it never occurred to me that they might be totally Silhouetted. Black even.

With that being said also seen in the trees is light, which probably also wouldn't be an accurate.

I'll keep playing around with it but you're right ...should be a lot darker....
