Drought

Tue Jun 23, 2020 9:12 pm

Someone had to now that fowler is gone or on a time out

Pretty surprising how fast things dried out. Grass never greened up in spring, then it exploded for about 3 weeks and already browning

Was gonna start this thread a week ago. My lawn is mostly brown. I’ve only had to mow twice this year due to lack of rain which has been nice. Every major rain storm that has made it up this way has parted and a chunk goes to the East and west of us.

Hopefully Lake Superior comes down. It is at record high levels and is causing some issues and changing some fishing patterns. Some of the local lakes could use a few less inches as well.

If it follows the typical pattern the past decade or so we’ll get a huge amount of water in a short period in late July or August that destroys a good chunk of the wild rice crop.

I live in the southwest metro, prior lake area. It's been a little dry but we had a good rain last night and this morning. It's been wet enough, honestly a hell of a growing season so far. The MN river is really low for this time of year. The local lakes could come down a foot honestly, really high right now.

We have had little over 2" the last 2 weeks down here where I live, lot's more south of me around Worthington where thy have had 3-7 inches in spots, but my sump pump has finally slowed down to running once every 2 hours or so, sloughs are still too high, need more dry weather......

Too damn wet in Bemidji right now. Wouldn’t doubt if the rice suffers but it’s too soon to say. Some still floating, some starting to stand up. Was really dry in April May and early June.
