Anybody getting out tomorrow for geese or teal?

Or other big plans for the fall?

I’ll be out for early teal with a buddy I haven’t hunted with in years. Haven’t had time to scout so just gonna go to a spot that typically holds lots of ducks and see what happens.

Was up a couple weeks ago to work on the cabin and the rice appeared good but upon closer inspection there was little to no seeds. Only checked a couple spots so hopefully that isn’t the case everywhere. N central MN

Hmm was curious when teal was it if it was happening this year didn't know it was tomorrow...so guess I'm not going tomorrow lol

Honestly have no where to really hunt geese anymore. Kinda sad my buddies parents farm that we hunted since we were like 14 finally went the way of development this summer. Another buddies parents farm that'd we hunt mostly as a backup is getting water and sewer installed currently for houses.

If I keep doing what I'm doing guess I'll have some time to scout and maybe find a place for us to get a hunt or two in this fall. See what the fall brings I guess

The day was won early and they died like doves. Probably one of the better Minnesota waterfowl hunts I’ve been on, gotta enjoy these ones cause they are few and far between for me.

Congrats on a successful hunt, that's good eating.
Buddies son was going to borrow my goose decoys but apparently went for ducks instead, no report yet.

I spent the opener refinishing windows at home since the temps and humidity finally dropped.

We got in to a few too. Landed a few hundred mallards, widgeon, pinners, black duck, ringers, reds, woodies, gadwall and swans between the teal action. Geese came in 30 seconds after the bell. Good way to kick off the fall.

Tried to hunt a public spot for teal got beat to that particular spot, so ended up going goose hunting ended the day with a 0. Sunday got 6 geese. No trips planned as of yet, would like to go back up to Canada again but problably not this year again.

I'd love to get back to Canada too. Hopefully by next year they will have ended the covid shot rule that is pointless. And be allowing birds back in the US.

The only positive about the Canada fiasco the past few years is it may be weeding out some of the guides and outfitters. The less of them the better.

I am kicking around the idea of doing a trip to ND, MT and/or NM this fall/winter. We'll see.
