Anyone besides FF care about the initial post? I don’t.

Obviously working in the field of natural resources mgmt I know more employees than most. I hate going to conferences because like Nershi said, most of these people are complete dorks. I would add that a lot are liberal bed wetters who believed everything that their college profs told them.

My experience is that a lot of fisheries people are big hunters and a lot of wildlifers are big anglers. By far most DNR employees hunt, fish, camp but maybe not all to the extreme like some of us. I mean… are your hobbies directly related to your career? Do you constantly get flamed about your job and then go imitate your biggest critics? Most DNR people do.

I have reached an age where some friends and acquaintances are promoting to some higher level bureaucrat jobs and I’ll voluntarily stay in the woods. Some of the non-hunters and bedwetters who get promoted give me concerns. Hopefully the vast majority of bureaucrats are loyal to the hook and bullet but I know we are going to see some really stupid shit like lead bans, outreach/equity nonsense, and just horrific stewardship of the lands and dollars.

But none of my concerns are related to anyones sex preferences. There’s still way too few of “those” to be a concerning demographic. The ones I know are fine.

I was a DNR intern for a summer (a real intern, I didn't sit at boat landings) at a bigger regional office. It seemed like most of the guys around the "specialist" level were all pretty hard core hunter/fisher bros. The higher the food chain, the less they seemed to hunt/fish.

Most of my friends in college were hunter/fisherman, although only a few actually have wildlife or natural resource related jobs. Of my closest friends, one works for a public works department not related to natural resources, one delivers beer, and one runs a charter boat and works for a lodge on LOTW.

Lol the whole nft thing was hilariously short lived. It was pretty crazy every POS penny stock for a few months was pr'ing they were involving themselves in nfts for insider's to dump into.

That scam didn't take quite as good as the crypto scam did
