Are those not typically counted in the western system I know nothing about it?

More specie specific than it is an east vs west thing. I’ve ran into elk hunters from literally all over the world and I’ve never heard anyone from the east call a 6pt bull (6x6) a 12pt. I’ve never heard even the most eastern New yowkkkah call a 4pt mule deer w/ eye guards a 10 pt.

I’ve only known a handful of coues hunters but they were all from west of here and would call a frame by each point, not one side like elk/m.deer. Not sure on black tail.

Yep true. Shot 5 greenwings tonight on bigger water. Most small stuff is froze. Whiffed on a nice can on the first shot and gun jammed so no second shot. We shall see what the morning brings.

The expected push this week was lack luster. Got in a couple good hunts but a bit of a let down for the expected freshies. Fowler probably knew this wasn’t the big push.

I'll be after him all week. I'm fairly certain that's not the one I jumped the other day...the one I jumped was a nice buck but I don't think it was that one.

I dunno, I always get pics of nice ones...never right spot right time. I've had a lot of big bucks on that piece of property over the years but it never quite comes together. The one year I had that massive 12 pt within 60 yards 4 times...once at 25 yards but was facing me head on. It just never works out lol. I chased that same deer 3 years and just never friggin came together

Oh well, guess be happy I have a small nugget of property where I at least have bucks of that caliber coming through fairly often. Eventually maybe it'll work out, but guess that's what keeps you going

I don't think the farmer will get the corn out anytime soon so hopefully if I don't get a crack at him before gun, he holds close to the property between the bedding and corn and can get back after him when I finish up gun season in se mn if I don't shoot something down there
