Ice went out on the lake my old man lives on today. He has been keeping record for 46 years and it has only gone out in March twice before and this year it beat the prior record by 15 days. The small lake I live on a little north of his place is still fine for walking and ATV. The lake I was on last weekend had trucks and wheelhouses on it and showed no major signs of the spring melt.

Pretty wild how much things varied this year. I can’t recall a year where much of the state has open water on inland lakes and also has lakes with trucks and wheelhouses still out.

Guess it's coming back with a vengeance. At least it's warm snow and not the brutal cold.

Dad timed his Mexico vacation absolutely perfectly. Left Monday comes back Monday. He's plowed his rentals once this winter looking like I'll plow 2-3 times this week while he's soaking in the sun

Can’t wait to shovel some and burn snowblower gas between working overtime shifts all weekend!

I shoveled again today... haven't used the atv once this winter. Thought this might be the first winter since I bought it in 2010 that I wouldn't use it but it's looking like I'll use it Monday unless I want to go out and shovel every few hours

Anyone noticed an explosion of ticks this year after the warm winter? We maybe find 3-4 all year on the dog and that's including at the cabin.

We walk through a small stretch of woods on our daily walk and I've found 4 ticks on him in the past week already. Haven't picked any up myself kinda weird

Haven’t seen or found a tick, more snakes than normal though.
