who else goes turkey hunting?

Sun Feb 02, 2014 3:39 pm

I went out and found a nice group of turkeys in a corn field and made me want spring to come even faster. I didn't know it was possible!

Hunted them many years ago in Kansas. Taking the wife to Indiana this spring for her first turkey hunt.

Turkey hunting, the only thing worse than deer hunting. Sit out in the ticks and mosquitoes to maybe get one shot at something that taste like the south end of a north bound horse. Yes I've shot some turkeys, probably won't ever do it again.

Shot a nice Tom the first day I ever hunted them last season. It was a pretty big rush watching it strut in and try to pick a fight with a couple other jakes to protect his hens. The jakes were happy when I popped him.

There were no ticks or skeeters because there was a foot of fresh snow. I'll probably keep doing it just for an excuse to go drink some whiskey with the guys at camp. It isn't my favorite thing to do but there really isn't much else to do that time of year. Deep fried turkey is delicious!

Turkey hunting is the best. Nothing gets my adrenaline flowing like a responsive tom...

got drawn in to hunt in the bluffs in couple months. Hopefully the birds are getting fat under some bird feeders right now.

I love turkey hunting as well. I didn't buy for the lottery this year as I am fine with hunting later in the season. I typically go one of the last 2 seasons.
