Anyone read any good waterfowl hunting books?

I haven't read anything on some time, figured I could read about something I'm interested in.

Any suggestions?

What kind of books are you looking for?

Single author fiction, anthologies, how to, non-fiction, ethics, travel.....

I would prefer non-fiction, single author fiction or maybe some how to.

If you want really old stuff, Wildfowling in Dakotas by Harold Duebbert; then "A Book on Duck Shooting" by Van Campen Heilner.

Old Stuff - MacQuarrie is tops. Lotta guys are infatuated with Nash Buckingham, but he was just a rich southern boy. I would hope all of us could kill a truckload of ducks on primo property down south in 1919 with a "negro" rowing the boat! Buckingham's writing is sometimes entertaining... he records the negros' speech phonically.

Ain't much modern writing worth reading.

The duck gods must be crazy and Don't shoot the decoys, both by Doug Larsen.

Misery Loves company by Bill Buckley. Its more of a picture book takes about 30 min to get through but has some good laughs and pics.

There are 4 Gordon MacQuarrie books..based mostly on Duck hunting and the old duck hunters club.,
there are others but these deal with mostly duck hunting.

Stories of the Old Duck Hunters & Other Drivel
More Stories of the Old Duck Hunters,
Last Stories of the Old Duck Hunters,
MacQuarrie Miscellany,

One of my favorite has to be the scare crow story...

I like a listening walk as well... by Gene Hill... great book. His mostly tailfeathers is not bad either.

If you want to go to what started it all... A Sand County Almanac ..not a great read at times but very enlightening.
