Got to love the fishermans outlet store in spirit lake. Just picked up this combo for 225.00 bucks.

Anybody else ever go down there?

When you get sick of breaking Fenwicks, you upgrade to St Croix. When you get sick of breaking St. Croix's, you become a Loomis ******. Assuming...you may actually hook a fish once in a while.

It's OK to show an inferiority complex, Loomis ****** don't care.

I thought it wasn't the quality or length of the rod, but all in how you used it?

I haven't had the luxury of having a rod break on me yet, and I hook fish once in a while... Kind of afraid to tell you what I use though, would hate to get some colorful label!

How do you know if someone fishes a Loomis?

They will tell you and tell you. Then tell you some more.

Loomis ****** are typically very helpful people. Maybe they help too much.

I have a few St. Croix and one Loomis. I like the Loomis better, but not $80 better.

Worked at Gander in fishing for about 5 years, late 90's. Not sure if guys did it on purpose, but saw Fenwick's lifetime warranty get used more than one would think. Most ever on St. Croix was a new tip. Nothing on Loomis.

Crap, I think my "Fowler" meter just tweaked up a notch.

Aunt and Uncle live in Spirit Lake/Okobogi...prefer going in the Summer when there's scantily clad college co eds everywhere
