Thanks 9manfan, I should have leveled a few spots and did better prep - but I pretty much just cut the grass down to roots with a weed whip and went over the top. The style I chose is supposed to come out 2" thick in the front, 4" on the backside and is 6" wide (or deep I guess you would say). The deer are currently occupied with my corn in the backyard, I'm sure it wont be long before they make it to the new landscape in front.
Colored & stamped curbing goes for around $8/ft here to hire it out. Picked up the machine for $850, a small mixer for $200 and I'm into consumable materials for about $400 with plenty to spare and have already done about 400ft now. Money ahead, plus like I already mentioned to lanyard, I get the satisfaction of knowing every little spot where I screwed up
.
I'd be more than happy to rent it out to just about anyone here within reasonable distance, will share what I've learned but you're on your own for labor. Thinking around $100 to use it till you don't need it, can even work something out with the mixer too I'm sure.
