Yesterday AM, hen still nesting, likely a renest attempt from an earlier natural nest that was raided by a predator. Sorry for the poor quality--it was the best my camera phone could do. The hen is standing on top of the Mallard nest on the left side.

Yup

What surprised me was how high it was, it is a good 1.5' higher than I thought it would be considering the drought last fall/winter. They must have had some very heavy rains in the area, much more than what I have seen in the west metro area the last few months. Which lakes sense as a fair number of beans fields have yellow bean leaves in the low areas.
