Still hate I grew up thinking walleyes were the only fish worth catching. Tried to get into rivers as a High Schooler but never found the time or the mentor. Now I have friends in Florida and fishing down there they are using what I catch as a keeper for bait.

Need these kids to get done and give me that empty nester syndrome. On the list, grayling.

I hear ya. My old man was a walleye guy. All of our fishing trips when I was young were aimed at walleyes. Occasionally id get him to cast top water for smallies or fish crappies in the winter. Now he loves coming with me to chase all kinds of species. He really likes the trouts and salmon I'm still working on him for Muskies. Sometimes I feel like I'm taking a kid fishing. Tables turned.

It's nice to mix it up and fish open water on the big pond in the winter. No video games to watch.
