A 3 state (Wisconsin, Michigan and Iowa) analysis and summary of the 2014 early teal season is available and has been posted to our webpage. Yes ! It's only a 3 year study... down to 2 now. Who knows it may go away forever or this study may prove its a viable option. Not to disrespect the southerners... but I would think MN hunters would shoot far less non-teal than some states. I would like to see the outcome of this study on say LA., MS., or AR.

The number of non teal those other states have around is nothing compared to our state. Nothing.

Personally, and I know the Feds wouldn't go for this....I think it should include spoonbills as well, up and down the flyway. Spoonies are in the teal family. Just saying!

I don't doubt for a second that we have more non-teal species in MN than the souther states. But I doubt we have that many more than Wisconsin, Iowa, and michigan. All those guys seemed to do ok.
