They have Chuck, did you see this? ^^^^^ The DNR said last summer that they were going do a scientific survey this winter.

And as I mentioned earlier, managers are hearing the same these last 6 months in regards to an early teal season. I just do not think that the scientific poll %s will be much different.

And I think some will still dispute this winters scientific survey just because it does not fit their view point. Bitchers are going the bitch, regardless of the topic/issue. C'est la vie

No, I missed this winter's scientific study....either I didn't get one in the mail, lost it, or wasn't included.

What a joke of a poll! I'm shocked the results were that favorable for a teal season after polling a bunch of blue-haired MWHA members.

Let's say 75% of duck hunters oppose a teal season?

Why is that a reason to not have one? Who cares if most people don't want one?

I guess I'm one of the few left who believe hunting seasons should implemented (or discontinued) based on a scientific-management approach.

I guess the DNR has succumb to a new management approach---listening to a bunch of whiny old farts get emotional.

I hope the DNR sticks to science and the hypothetical 75% of the duck hunters who don't want a teal season can choose to not hunt it.

The new poll:

Who wants more ducks?
Who wants more places to shoot ducks?
Who wants their old places to produce ducks like they used to?

If we can get a majority of people to say "I do" to these three questions, it WILL make a difference....

I received one of the winter surveys. There was around 100 questions in it, a lot of "do you feel filling a bag limit is the only way to have fun" and "is filling a bag limit the sign of a succesful hunt" type questions. A section on how many days you hunt and how many ducks/geese you killed. A section on the early teal season. And a section of how you feel the DNR manages waterfowl.
