Notice anything missing?

The Aug goose season is no more.

per Steve Cordts today:
We dropped the August season and dropped the 10 bird bag in the Intensive Harvest zone in Sept. to 5.

We looked at harvest, harvest rates of banded birds, etc. for the 3 years we had the August season. We didn’t increase harvest or harvest rates. And, our statewide breeding goose population is near or below our goal and we weren’t seeing any increases in crop damage/issuing shooting permits.

Im glad, that early early August season was a joke anyway. Way too hot hardly anyone hunted it.

The only thing I liked about the Aug season is you could shoot a 1/2 hr after sunset. It actually made hunting water in the evening an option.
