Minnesota Waterfowl Hunting

I not read of 1 report of any one hunting yet and it's been open over a week.

Please post up and let us know how you did.

I hunted North Dakota over the weekend. Was a good time. Shot some decoying geese.

We have an early season and not everyone is hunting? It can't be.

Yep, spread the seasons out more and the pressure kind of spreads out, what an odd concept?

What next?

More opportunity to sustain-ably harvest species like say teal.

There's guys who hunt ducks and also like to bear hunt, bow hunt and grouse hunt. Taking away the importance of an opening day is not a terrible idea. Where we think it will ruin "openers" is just ignorant.

Have yet to hunt it and won't. Just to much other stuff going on August into September.

I'm generally to busy too, I'll try to hunt geese on September but I won't get out enough really.

I have been out. Things have died. That's kind of the point.

I was out fishing in the Western part of the state last weekend. Every cut field had geese in it but I did not see anyone out. Some of the feeds were probably 100+ birds. I probably won't get out until the regular duck opener this year in MN. Hopefully some teal in WI if I can make time.

We have not gone out yet due to fields just got harvested. There has been a fair amount geese getting killed but mostly by roost busting and jump shooting. I hope this is the last year of the August season
