I drove around the countryside yesterday afternoon and only saw a few Seagulls mulling around. Then l hit the backwaters for a view and only saw a few Bills and more Seagulls. Haven't seen a goose in any of the fields yet.

Well considering Squaw Creek picked up over 30k mallards last week, you could be waiting a while!

It was 2-3 weeks ago, like it is every year. It's October 17th, plus or minus 3 days.

We never got a big push this year, and it was slow most all the season. Hunted yesterday in the snowstorm and did scratch out a couple, ringer and Susie, but only saw 7 ducks. Lakes froze up now, so seasons over for me.

All the geese are heading to warmer climates today. Way high.

Non stop birds rolling through eastern SD today. Most lakes are locked up. Still enough birds around should make for some good hunting through Sunday.
