A family friend used large corrugated culvert. Dug hole, stuck culvert in vertically, added rock to bottom, cut plywood lid.
Used on duck and goose on permanent duck slough, not field. Stupid people were capable of falling into them.
I don't doubt Al's design is comfortable, and if you're going to own it for your lifetime, might be worth it. Seems like anything that has some structural integrity, can be buried, etc. could work. For seasonal you could dig a shallow grave, insert a coffin, cover up the lower end, and take on layout blind doors.... cushy, comfy and creepy! But it's waterfowl hunting, so would think we'd get over the creepy.....
