Hunting season can't be too far off...

Tue Jun 30, 2015 9:36 am

.....because on the Sportsman's channel, yesterday they aired the 1st episode of Avian X for 2015.

For in case you still want to watch it, they usually air an episode a few times a week.

And in a bit over 2 months the Sept Goose season starts as well as the other state teal seasons.

Too much slow motion and music, good footage however. It's helps pass the time until the season.

No advertising for the Gamey Fart yet so hunting season has to be a little ways off.

Is it just me, of was the amount of slow mo a LOT more this year?

Also it seemed weird of no intro of where they were hunting. Usually I thought they spent a 1/2 minute setting up the show of where they were. Obviously it likely was SK with the lessor Canada's and Snows, but it seemly strange of no setting up the hunt.

And I thought last year the music was tamer, I enjoyed that. Any show with a bunch of hard edge rock quickly spoils it the show for me and soon the channel switched or gets turned off.

I guess we'll see if the new trends continues. And if it does - how much of it was because of the new owners of Avian X?

I had a DVRd a DU show earlier this week and watched it this week. The filming of action shots was a bit lacking.

But 2 interesting things.

They had a clip of John Wayne promoted DU. Kind of a hoot as it had to be at least 40 years go.

2nd was that DU has a campaign to raise $2B, no that is not typo, it is Billion to protect existing habitat.

In the last 18 years. wish that 1/2 of the CRP $ was used on permanent easements on grasslands and wetlands VS the 10 year contracts.
