Any Interest in a MN Fowl Group Honker Hunt?

Thu Dec 03, 2015 8:13 pm

We could do a rented field/pit hunt only through Premier or Westline Guide Services around the Rochester area, or another spot??? If we do a field/pit rental for the day, prices are usually about $50.00 per gun depending on location.

I'm sure that we could come up with enough decoys/callers to make it interesting.

A weekend seems to work best for all concerned, but open to other ideas.

If we start planning now, it could happen in about 2-weeks or less.

Thoughts?

I would seriously consider due to the lack of hunting I did this year but shooting a doe is my first priority right now.

I'd probably be in.

Isn't the hunting pretty tough down there if there isn't snow on the ground? It doesn't look like we are going to get any anytime soon.

A 4-gun minimum is required @ $200.00 for Premier.....after that it is $50.00 per gun if I'm reading it right.

Lack of snow cover will definitely affect the hunting....rain is forecasted for next week. The following week, 14-18 December, the temperatures are predicted to drop. That might be the better time?

For those that are interested, let me know what days will work for you. Bill has already answered.

p.s. I'll bring a big pot of chili that day.

If it was 50a gun I'd be interested depending on the date.

With the weather predictions calling for a drop in temperature and possible snow, maybe next weekend would be the time to go for it? Anyone heard anything about the Rochester area goose population?

Birds are thick down here. Rez's are wide open and the grass fields are getting the majority of the action.
Women with whiskers.....that's a bummer
