But down here, they could do much shorter legs of the migration by Nov 1st.

For it to be a late hatched duckling in Nov it'd be in molt colors yet, Where as most of the ducks are at or getting to full plumage.
I think the season in Hudson bay already started. I saw some more very small ducks again today. A couple weeks old maybe.

Geese in the air tripled in my local neighborhood. May have quadrupled. The evening flights of ducks has increased, but not to the same level.

One of the farms I hunt every season has over 150 geese on it already. Have never seen those numbers anywhere near this early.

You may be right if they have a "conservation order" season up there, similar to the spring season except before the regular season. The regular season can not start before Sept 1.

Goose numbers seem up in my area too. Doubt I'll hunt early season unless ma wants me to mow down some shit machines off her beach.

Fall is definitely in the air. I know it ain't over but summer seemed to fly by this year.

No wonder they are so darn smart

With the 2 hrs shorter daylight, and the brisk NW this morning, it sure reminds me of Fall....

And there are lots of duck hunting shows now on DTV this past month too. I spent 2 hrs watching some last night.

they forgot hunting.....
