I'd say its truth. I have some close ties and first hand knowledge to last years winner. Most of these outfitters have been around awhile which speaks for itself.

Blanchfield can eat a huge bag of dicks. He single handedly ruined the waterfowl hunting around DL. Leased up over 10,000+ acres and because of him the farmers that never used to post their fields now post it so he can't hunt it. So then you need to put even more leg work in to finding the farmer during harvest season and bug them. I took care of a person from there (nonhunter) and I started to ask this person about Blanchfield and the person stated "Don't get me started on that asshole".
I don't know much about these guys, but I will say that from talking with other people I have never heard a bad thing about Woodland Resort. Fishing or hunting.
at $495/ day it ain't worth it especially since you could be there when there's no migration and stale stale birds. but then again some guys dont care about the hunt.
I tried to piece the pricing together on the intro nets, but gave up. That $495 include the lodging/meals?
I'm not an outfitter user, to damned independent and broke. But for guys looking for that once in a lifetime deal, or just have the cahoots to get it done, likely not a bad deal to fly in from Chicago in the morning, fish by sunset, whack waterfowl in the a.m. break for lunch, walk pheasants, fish after dinner, repeat.
For 495 a day you can go with an outfitter in Canada and get far better hunting. And yes he has locked everything up around devils lake unless you hunt the big lake. There is a reason people say stay 50 to 100 miles away from the devils lake area and he's a big reason why. I've seen some of his videos and he will pack 8 to 10 hunters in a field. No thanks that's not for me.
