How Much Have You Spent for Hunting So Far?

Thu Aug 31, 2017 7:03 pm

Have you purchased all your dekes, shells and gear for this upcoming season? Did your expenditures exceed the wealth of some third world nation?

I haven't spent a dime! Don't plan to. Might even try using last years license and stamps.

Zink, Belden, Grounds, Cabelas, MPW, all may go broke because of my lack of spending. The economy may never recover either.

I've often thought it would be economically viable to forgo license buying. If you can go 3-5 years without getting checked it's probably a wash and money ahead after that. Some people never get checked. It would be a great masters project for a Delta student.

I just sold 4 dozen decoys for $450 and bought 2 dozen for $200.
Probably better go and license up tomorrow. I hunt too many common spots and get checked frequently enough.

Just 15 diver decoys a 12 slot bag and a boat anchor. Might need new waders, I'll find out after opening day.

Normally 3K on average a year. No sense working if you can't spend some on yourself.

On actual equipment, I don't think I've spent that much in the last decade :-)

Why not go test them at a lake today with the warm temps?
It'll also give some time to find a deal if you do need them.

I have bought some Herters foamers, and window sash wrights - that is it. Sold some decoys too, so its a wash.
