The 12 days split is so **** ing retarded it is ridiculous!

Another lost 12 days of open water hunting opportunities all because of a few very vocal well do do (leases) and land owners wanting to hunt Mallards in Nov/Dec.

Meanwhile the rank and file waterfowlers are screwed as we can not afford or get permission to land and the sloughs and small lakes are froze up.

There was a post before season I predicted a short season and gave a number a days we can hunt in sw mn. I want to say 40-42 was my prediction. Be interesting to see how close I'll be.

It was mote than just a few lease holders. It had very popular support by most duck hunters in the southern half of the state. They had short memories when they asked for it. Now they have short memories about their support for it. The DNR has many faults but this one is not their fault.

fowler: for a guy that never hunts im not sure what youre so mad about.

There will still be plenty of mallards around at the end of the season in the S zone. The rivers and lakes wont be frozen until Christmas down here.

Hahahaha. 3 out of the last 5 seasons people had wheelhouses on the lakes over here before duck season was over.

I'll be walking of the lakes without going through by Monday if not sunday.

I sure was NOT a proponent for a 12 day closed season. 5 days like central, yes.

Like the first year. Just a north and south zone. North was continuous and south was two days and then five off.

Why are you so mad? I never hear any hunting reports from you.

Also, who are these lease owners you speak of? Never heard that theory.

Also, don't forget the season opens a week to two weeks earlier than it used too. I can remember when I was younger opening being octocter 5th some years. Most teal were gone. And it was a noon opener.
