Flotation coat?

Anyone using these? Saw an old school Camo by Onyx at Fleet Farm. Curious if others have used then, how they are too wear, shoot out of, etc.

Been interested in one for fishing. Did you try it on... How did it feel for shooting?

How much $$ at fleet?

Online reviews/descriptions/pricing don't look like the one I saw.

$79 on clearance. Not impressed.

I had a Stearns Floatation coat for several years. I would not recommend it for hunting, but for fishing in large open water, definitely. It was somewhat bulky, but it did keep the cold off of you.

I'll stick with the mesh shoulder life vest. I think the floatation coat is one of those good ideas that didn't quite transfer to reality. Certain they are great in the right instances, but for me, I don't see myself in too many of those right instances.

Striker suit. Both the bibs and jacket float. I have a set that I use for duck hunting and ice fishing and they are nice. I have no problem shooting in it.

I don't think they qualify as a floatation device and I think you will sink after a certain amount of time. They float long enough for me to crawl back on the ice or back in my boat to put a life jacket on.

I think they retail around $200 but I have a hook up to get the bibs or jacket for $150 each.

I have an older Stearns coat that is identical to the Oynx, bought the Oynx model last year. Have used it for years and it has worked well. Plenty warm, I wear it under a Gore-tex jacket. Have not had any trouble shooting while wearing.
