Your Favorite Motion Decoy for Snows....

Mon Dec 22, 2014 5:52 pm

What is it? Do you prefer wind powered, motorized, or both?

I don't have any motorized motion stuff (i.e. Vortex Rotary, Snow Flocker, etc) and still rely on the simple wind powered stuff. (i.e. Silo-sock Flyers, Ultra-light Reel Wings, Reel Wings 360s).

Granted I'm at a disadvantage on windless days, but the trade-off is the cost, maintenance, and weight of the power equipment.

I have two rotaries, I like them, they've probably added some birds to the bag but they've probably cost us some birds on certain days as well. They are a good investment though, ducks like them too. I've started using them in the fall.

We use rotaries and some other flyers. They've no doubt helped in some cases but there are many, many times I wish the guys I hunt with would agree with me to take them down.
