WTH? No WPAs in map books?

Thu Sep 24, 2015 7:26 am

It's been a few years since I've done a lot of "new spot" hunting. Between no time and the convenience of well known areas and hunting camps, new ground hasn't really entered my brain.

Now, I've got a schedule and some time to revisit old haunts and find some new ground. So, off I got to get what was, WAS, the best resource I had found: DeLorme Atlas and Gazeteer.

But when I got there, the WPAs were bare!

Checked another one, and there again, no WPAs!

WMAs were shown. But made me think WTH? Paper maps like that are easier for me to see a landscape and route down roads than the phone apps/mapping which tend to rely a lot on a signal to get you someplace.

That sucked.

You want this, I think they sell it at barns and noble. It's by region or statewide.

I've also bought those at Walmart and saw them for sale at Runnings and Fleet Farm possibly.

Ya I've seen them at the Lakeville Fleet Farm I think. They have good detailed info on public hunting ground.

I know those.... it takes 5 books for the whole state, Fleet Farm has them. The Gazeteers were the best single resource.

Dammit, who put Fowler in charge of the map committee?

Anybody wants this one, $10 via PayPal. Print date was 06. I don't need two.

Think these even show school lands, county and township lands.

If'n I end up wanting one again, I guess it will end up being the All-Outdoors Atlas. T'chaser, will see what happens, might take you up on it. I know you said print date '06, what edition is it?

Sent an inquiry to DeLorme re: WPAs, etc. Will see what they say.
