Mossberg Pro Waterfowl Shotgun

It appears that they are working hard at getting their auto-loaders right. D.U. TV has issued all of their hosts one of them.
Pro shooter Jerry Miculek swears by the 930 function.

IMO, they beat Escort, Stoeger, Charles Daly, Hatsun, ATI, and most of the other medium priced imports. They give Weatherby SA, Remington V3, & Beretta 300 a run for the money.

They seem to shoulder and point fairly well. I really like the tang mounted safety as well.

Other opinions?

I'll never shoot a Mossberg again. Only firearm I've owned that tried to kill me.

Short version...three bucks 20 yards, Mossberg no fire, eject slug, slide bolt forward with new slug, goes off, slug barrel ear level, buttstock slams into groin, three bucks walk away laughing.

"Ouch!" The family jewels aren't meant to take shotgun recoil.

Ever had bruised nuts before? Then try finishing the last day and a half of the season with black and blue boys. Wasn't fun but I had my dad's 1100 to use since he felt bad for me.

I doubt I'll own another gas gun in my life.

Sounds like there is a story behind this one....do tell.

I haven't owned a gas operated gun in years either. My choice is either inertia driven or a pump. However, there have been improvements with the gas operating systems & components. A newer gas gun may be worth trying.

Confused on the issues with gas operated systems. Love mine. Just need to make sure to clean the ports once in awhile. When clean it will shoot trap loads.

But it's not a fancy new fangled job that shoots 3.5" or anything. That kind of gun is too fancy for my shooting.
