Put in small game forum forgetting this forum is here.
Anyone have one?
I've got a few .22s but want to get something that I can customize and it looks like this is the route to go. Figured i'd see if anyone has any experience with the gun itself or building/customizing one.

Ive got 2. 1 the kids shoot is untouched. Mine the only part still stock is the action. I now have a CZ 455 trainer thats in the camo manners stock, I hardly touch my 10/22 anymore. Also have a cz 455 american thats for "hunting". All 3 three of mine will shoot under .500'' at 50 yards.
2 things that get a 22lr to shoot good
1. Good trigger around 2pounds or less
2. Find what ammo it likes. Generally a lead bullet around 1070fps...mine all shoot CCI standard velocity fairly well. If i need more accuracy I move up to Eley, SK, Lapua, RWS.

Was hoping you'd chime in if you had one. About how much $ do you think you have invested in the one that you decked out?

I’d guess $1500 total. Take off $800 for the optic.
This is what I’d buy now if I’d do it all over again.

Hard question to answer because I don't even know what I want yet but would I be best off finding a cheap used 10/22 and sticking the money in aftermarket parts rather than the rifle right off the bat? I haven't researched enough to know all of the differences in the 10/22 models.

Yeah. Depends on what you want to do with it.

The 10/22 is a great platform for customization. Your basically only limited by your imagination and budget. Post some pics when you get going on yours.

Those are the kinds of groups i'm looking for at that distance.
What barrel do you have on your 10/22?
