It will be a few years. I do not think dogs are disposable. So once I get one they are here till they die. My last one refused to swim. Sank like a rock when thrown in. Free pass I didn't have a hunting dog till she passed.

2.5 year old female Yellow Lab. Great hunting partner on the pond and in the field.
Shown here in a rare calm moment.

I have an 11 month old chocolate lab, Tate. He is the first dog I have ever owned and has taught me way more then I could teach him. He did not get out this fall, his training is going pretty slow because I am having to figure things out as we go.
I have been taking lessons with him and it has been an absolute blast. Lets just say, I get coached more than he does. I am really excited with the progress he has made these past few months and can not wait for next years hunting season.

The dog known as Star....some times known as Maytag because of her swimming style. She's a great companion...but I have had better duck dogs.
