Well last min GF decided it'd probably be best/easier to leave the puppy at home with me. So just me and him the next 2 weeks

Ya he's gonna help me get my cardio back. He loves to run, and my yard is pretty small. He's got tons of energy we need to burn off daily. So we've started going on mile walks/runs 2-3 times a day and take him to the property off leash and run with him out there a bit.

He's still just a puppy but he continues to impress me with his raw skills that can hopefully be channeled into a great hunting dog. We play games around the house where I hide his ball and tell him to go get it and he puts his nose to work and brings it back. He even understands pointing a certain direction and that that's the way he's supposed to go. Hell look up at your finger then look in the direction it's pointing then take off and go find his ball in that direction. Pretty fun, can't wait til the weather gets a bit nicer and we can start doing a bit more intense training and get in the water.

Getting bigger. I'm not a big game farm guy but the GF's dad want to take his dogs out tomorrow so may head out there and have him walk along

Well he's not gun shy at least. I kept him on his leash a majority of the way just to make sure he didn't screw it up for anyone. Towards the end I let him off and he stayed a good distance out front and listened to come back when he got too far. We had already kicked up all the birds but he did smell out and come up on a pile of feathers...at least he got his feet wet.

Ya, he's still a lil shit often enough to piss me off, bit at the same time he shows enough smarts that it keeps me from going insane. I'm hoping he mellows a lil bit as he gets a bit older as he's a little higher energy than I'd prefer...but he is only 5 months old.

Wore out from his evening jog. He's pretty high energy but can't say it's bad for me... usually take him for a 1.5 mile walk/jog before work then another at night. Energy is frustrating at times but if channeled right should be good. Still impressed with how smart he is. I start filling up my water bottles and getting the bag ready for work he just goes and sits next to his kennel realizing I'm about to leave. There's just tons of things like that that he picks up on instantly. Maybe it's just because I haven't had a dog in so long...I dunno but it's pretty cool to see how quickly he picks up on things, maybe they all do. It's been fun. Looking forward to taking him for his first swim in a couple weeks
