How are duck numbers looking up there, ring necks around in numbers? Think I am going to run to the cabin for one day to help Dad tomorrow, probably throw my Stealth and some decoys in the box and hit up a lake close to the cabin in the morning.

Did pretty good for just going out to a spot blind that I found years ago. Got 3 ring necks and a gw teal. Dropped another ring neck that dove on me, and had a couple flocks where my gun just went click(shooting a bag of old crappy Kent up). Was happy with that, should have had a limit. Decent amount of birds seen in the 2 hrs I hunted this morning

IMHO the peak duck migration into Mn was 2.5 weeks ago back when Brandon MB had 2 - 10 degree mornings. Lots of widespread reports of guys doing well in MN from 1.5 to 3 weeks ago. That was about 3 weeks earlier than average of recent times for the last 20 yrs.
I think middle of next week we should see more Mallards and Bills into Mn as they are talking 30s for highs in S Mn for a few days.

Look at that - in one day we doubled the 5-year post count in this thread!

I think by next weekend most of the sloughs and small lakes will be iced over based on that not even above freezing for highs in S MN end of the week.

And another short season for 95% of Minnesota.
