So let me get this straight, no pun intended;
Here's their words, "She said that as a lesbian she has felt the sting of prejudice but doesn't know what it's like to be mistreated because of skin color." Yet they are irritated over the fact they picked white sperm, and got black sperm. That is hard not to glean some hypocrisy from. But is yet another challenge facing same sex couples, that can not procreate, so they are forced to choose other options, none of which are fool proof. Although doing it sausage to taco is no cure all either.
It is an interesting set of circumstances. For a couple, who happen to be lesbians, to not only choose a white sperm donor, then having a mixed race child, seems interestingly disjointed. I understand the irritation with choosing one, yet getting the other. More claims and law suits to institute more laws and regulations over. And now the courts will have to deal with how they handle same sex couples and opposite sex couples. One would like to think they will be fair, equal and there will be no difference between the two. But we all know there will be some hesitancy with a court when they have the fear of being labeled as homophobic.
The new set of circumstances derived from a culture, society with so many new sets of norms and ideals will be interesting to see how same sex marriage couples handle all the legal challenges of being legally married. Then being able to go through divorce, single parenthood and child support issues. One would think, they surely can't do much worse than heterosexual couples who have really screwed the pouch and set the bar very, very low. But there should be some factual difference's in how things shake down when the dust settles.
