Geez, another attack on the black hoodie crowd. Here's why I wear a black hoodie while field hunting. I got my carhart black hoodie for 20 bucks. Its comfortable and the built in hood is nice while hunting out of a layout blind since the wind is always coming from behind me and it keeps my neck warm. While hiding in a layout your clothing color doesn't matter. I tend to get up and stand in my decoys most of the time while waiting for geese. When I here geese way out there I get back in the blind, meaning I move around. If any of you think that the coolest and latest hot trends in hunter fashion ( camo) will mask your movement then I think your 100% wrong. The ultra hip max 2000 camo wearing guy will be seen just as easily by geese while moving around getting back into the blind as me in my cheap ass black hoodie. Only difference is I have the possibility of maybe being seen as a couple geese moving around to the distant geese. But the camo guy will defiantly look better to some inbred gals back in town.

Yeah, you ain't cool cause you bought it on sale. If you're concealed, who cares what you wear.

My favorite hoody is a brown grease, oil stained one full of holes, frayed all over, that's over a decade old I bought on sale. Farmers think it's cool.

That and white framed sunglasses and the willingness to blow their favorite call maker if asked to.

Also most think that geese can only be shot over 200 fullbodies that were brought out in a sticker wrapped enclosed trailer.

Since when are Carhart cheap assed? :o :?

FYI ------> The Black hoodie crowd don't wear Carhart because it doesn't say Foiles, Zink, Avery, etc on the back of it. <------

BTW, you CAN buy a tan colored Carharts too. ;)

Anyway, I think the point of the author is that the black color gives a stark contrast against the a light colored background (wheat stubble, corn husks) and so the geese can pick you out better than if you blended in.

But the Tire Tracks in the field surrounding the decoys aren't obvious either.
