2015 Bow Hunting Reports

Good luck to you guys. I am planning on ditching work early and going afternoons today-Thursday, before having to go south Friday afternoon. I don't take any time off for gun hunting I'd rather dip out 1.5 hours early every day and go bow hunting.

Just don't seem like its that close yet. I was thinking middle of this week big ones would start making appearances during the day, but not so sure after the last 7 days in the stand. If not, then gun hunting is going to throw everything off. Luckily around my bow hunting land there is minimal gun hunting pressure and movement stays pretty natural

I sat Friday morning and evening and Saturday evening. Saw at least 4 deer every sit all with in range. Does fawns and small bucks. More sign popping up over the weekend. Haven't seen any bucks following does or chasing yet. Saw a nice buck Friday night but didn't have a shot. Saturday saw the same buck. Was able to get a shot, but my shot hit too far back. Hit him on the hip. Arrow came out after 20 yards. Had my brother and dad help look in the morning. Couldn't find any blood. Arrow only penetrated 2 or 3 inches. Very disappointed in myself. I am sure someone will get him this weekend with the gun.

Sucks, but it happens. At least you were seeing deer. This weekend severely depressed me

@ 11:00 am I saw a decent enough 8 point (probably 110"ish) chasing a doe hard...... could have cared less I was there.

Unfortunately It's later than I sat .... just saw it from a distance, I have a stand (for the winds we had) that's pretty much visible from my front door, about 3/4 mile away and he was in some CRP between my house and my stand. I actually drove past him, caught him crossing a road going into the CRP. When I slowed down to look, he just kept following her and didn't run from the truck. Im certain she bedded out there and he's likely not leaving her. I'll be out there again tonight. From what I could tell, he's a new deer..... I don't think I have any cam pics of him.

Talked to a client that bow hunted prime land in SW Wisconsin this weekend with two other guys. One guy did 5 sits and saw 1 deer. Other guy did 5 sits and saw 4 deer. My client sat twice and hit an 8 pt high, came in to a rattle...couldn't find it. Said movement is nil

Saw 3 does tonight. Kept waiting for that buck to come out but no dice. Big boy tracks going right by my camera, need to get some batteries in that thing

My shooter is moving around a lot, 2 fresh sets in 2 days. Let's hope he makes a mistake

Deer just don't want to move during shooting hours. Didn't see anything, walk to truck and a mile down the road see deer
