Re: 2015 Bow Hunting Reports

Checked my camera tonight in the location I plan to hunt all day Friday. Had a shooter come through Sunday morning at 8am. Also had a huge buck I saw for the first time through binos scouting Sunday morning come through the same morning at about 4am.

Buddy text me about 330 yesterday afternoon that he missed a 120" buck. Fast forward to about 2 hours later and he called me and said he missed an even bigger, roughly 140" buck. I don't know what his deal is, whether it's nerves or something out of whack with his equipment but bummer. Both within 25 yards.

He said he saw 6 bucks and at least half of them were chasing does around and nose to the ground. Thursday/Friday could be good after the cool down and rain.

Sucks to be him haha.

I am thinking Thursday afternoon will be good, always see big bucks on their feet in mist and cloud cover. I just hope the heavy rain holds off til after dark

Had a big mature shooter come in this morning to. He spun me around in the stand and long story short he got a hall pass. Another 20 feet and I'd have let him have it...

My initial plan was to take Thursday off but I'm not sure what to think of the forecast. NOAA says it will reach 61° at 11am and then dropping to 48° the remainder of the day. Not a huge chance (40%) of rain, nor will it be heavy but I'm not a fan of bow hunting in the rain. I may have to take tomorrow afternoon off, or at least try to be in the stand by 2 230 tomorrow. Pretty windy afternoon.

Friday I will be taking the day off for sure.

Loving this weather today I thought it was going to be sunny and warm. May sneak out even earlier today

Likewise, they're still calling for mid 60's but it sure doesn't feel like it.... I'll be leaving here shortly to climb back up.

30mph wind here.

Buddy that missed two yesterday is heading out right now for ''redemption''. We'll see how many texts I get today!

Boy they're right on that cusp of being out before legal quitting time... Aside from this a.m. I had one good deer step out tonight at about 125 yards and blew off everything I threw at him.... 2nd deer today Im certain was a shooter and I had no idea he existed until tonight. Nothing else the rest of the night until I climbed down. This stand is about 3/4 mile from where I park and there were deer on their feet when I was walking, and then driving....

Looks like our weather won't get here until mid day, morning could be pretty fantastic if it's not raining too hard
