Interesting, we've had our Pellas since 1982 with minimal problems. 3 of them don't seal as good as they used to, but they are better than the Anderson's my neighbor replaced long ago. Did your rot from the inside or out? Every 5 years or so I touch up the sash on the bottom with poly to protect the wood.
I also put in three Pellas in 2003 doing a remodel and they are awesome. They are a substantial better design than the 1982 ones.

These were the pella pro line casement windows. They rotted on the bottom like crumble in your hands rotten. Water sat under the wood and couldn't drain away due to the design from outside in.

You know you cannot patent double tapping crows, calling people trolls or asking people for their lists.

If you have any large trunks save them. They make an awesome looking wood for small projects and turning.

May cut some buckthorn myself.

Work like a SOB to make up for the last few months...we are usually pretty busy in Winter. Put in 60+ hours a week.

Few ice fishing trips.

Hang unit heater in garage...build shelving in garage...tile backsplash in kitchen. Possibly new water heater/softener.

Look forward to Spring snows in 3-4 months
